PROUD TO BE A RANGER!
The Kapiti Inline Hockey Club has a proud history and can justifiably claim to be the home of Inline Hockey in New Zealand. The inaugural National Inline Hockey Championships were held in 1994 and since then players, coaches and administrators from Kapiti Rangers have been a model for all to follow.
The Kapiti Rangers Club has been a vibrant presence on the Kapiti Coast and on the national sporting scene. In the 1996 NZ Inline Hockey Association's National Championships Rangers won the Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 titles and medalled in Under 12, and Senior Men. This set the scene for over 10 years of competition successes for Kapiti Rangers teams and for Kapiti Rangers players who have featured in New Zealand teams in all grades. This continuing success is in no small measure due to the dedicated group of volunteer coaches and club officials who have created a culture of sportsmanship and excellence second to none.
From the outset the Rangers Club recognised the benefits to the community of social hockey for beginning and casual players so alongside the Kapiti Rangers teams competing in local, regionals and national tournaments has run a very successful complementary programme for players of all ages and skill levels.
As the Club approaches its 15th anniversary, there is the exciting prospect of a new venue to provide more rink time, a larger skating area, many new members and major events being staged on the Coast.
